I've scored a number of new watchers in recent days (thanks guys and girls!) and the resounding reason? Cars...

I was mortified when I realised the motoring world had accounted for only four of my last 20 deviations. So I thought I'd best remedy that situation... ;p

The hardest part of this? Coming up with a title. I needed something with flames, so naturally I turned to The Whitlams. How lazy could one be...?

Update 21 March 2008: Changed again! Reverted to slightly more natural colour tones and added slight vignette. Image also marginally taller with cars hugging the bottom and right side of the frame.

Cars, cars are always a good reason.

Damn nice shot there. Guess there's not much team spirit happening there =P

They just look so similar, not just the cars but the attitude of them (flames, leaning on the outside wheel). Had to take a few seconds out to make it clear in my mind that you hadn't pulled something in photoshop.

Oh, no need to worry about me inserting special effects; I'm very much a basics-only editor. Colour edits are about the extent of what I can do at the moment! This was down to good timing. The General's cars usually spit out flames on the overrun, and they seem to hold it well into the corner, so you have probably as much as a second to take the shot. Getting the HSVDT cars in formation was a bonus...

Beautiful shot! The cars running in formation; the belch of flame at the same time.
Thanks very much! I'm stoked that I was able to capture the team 'flying in formation', especially having both emitting flames.

How brilliant is this shot? :wow:
That's some excellent timing there, Dan. I love the esses in the background, and like everyone else, the pair and the flames. Too awesome that is.

Cheers, mate.

Team spirit only counts up to the last lap, yeah? ;)

Well, at least with digital you get as many attempts as you like at getting the shot =P
Ha, I envy these people who can edit a photo and make it look like it's been taken that way.

I'm lookin' forward to seeing how Holden go with the new C'dores next year. Wheel in each corner, should be good :D
