Another month goes by...

... so I thought I'd best update the old Journal - before 2009 rolls around! Where has this year gone?

As you can see over the past few weeks I've been shooting rather a lot. And I have to say, cars have taken a back seat (pardon the pun) to people. Yes, the Muscle Car Masters were great, but given that the event came a week after my shoots with Ellena and Bianca, the excitement just wasn't there. Surprising, when you consider it'd been about six months since my last trackside adventure (V8 Supercars, again at Eastern Creek)...

There could still be many more to come - I could still upload literally dozens from those shoots, but I'm not especially pleased with the response (or rather lack thereof) to them so I don't know if I'll bother; I've been attracting far more interest on Flickr with my portraiture. If you think you can convince me otherwise, speak up now, otherwise I'll only post racing images here...

It'd be a shame to stop, I know, and I don't think I ever will but I have to consider that it's never got me anywhere. By comparison, I'm already looking at having my pics published in mags featuring Ellena and Bianca. If I could actually make something from shooting people then I'd be mad not to. See where I'm coming from?

Definitely go where your heart takes you... particularly with the awesome results you've been getting. I'm sorry (but not surprised) to hear that DA isn't necessarily getting the feedback/acknowledgment you're looking for from DA. Not that I can talk: I've been very, very slack in providing feedback on here :(

Anyways, look forward to seeing what more there is to come.

Yeah, I just have the shits with this site. Nothing new there. I'll keep posting what I want to, maybe do some tidying up of old garbage, and continue to flood Flickr with stuff that gets me views there (basically the polar opposite of this site!)...

I know you've not been active but then you also have had a very valid excuse for a good while. I do expect that to change, naturally!

hey, just know I love all your images, man, but i have to agree, that if you wanna try new things, feel free. I sure know that I'm not the only one with multiple accounts (DA has been kinda the same for me, too, especially after changes I've personally made)

Thanks for all your support, Jessen. You've been here, no matter under which username, for a long while now. I'm just a little down about the lack of support from other quarters, especially for my portraiture.

Everyone's gonna have to get used to it because it's the path I'd rather go down. Unless, of course, I just pack up and concentrate solely on Flickr...

I much prefer your portrait work, however, I find that I don't really know enough about it to provide comments of value. I fear there would be dozens of comments saying "I like this one!"
